Arguably the pin up for the Soundcloud Rap-era, XXXTentacion's career was as controversial as it was influencial, with the artists' legacy continuing to inform the new generation of DIY rappers out there today. Dropping in 2017, his debut LP "17" was a departure from the single that gained him noteriety, "Look At Me!", and foreshadowing of what was to come. With a talent ahead of his time, and a life cut too short, Xxxtentacion's legacy will forever live on in physical form via these releases. Swerving the rap rock and trap he'd burst onto the Soundcloud scene with, "17" sees X offer an alternative to traditional RnB, incorporating elements of emo and indie, all smudged and scuzzed in the artist's trademark lo-fi style. The result is an album Cody Chesnutt would have released if he'd just come out of juvie with a profound xanax addiction.
