New Model Army

Unbroken

Known for their unique blend of punk rock, post-punk, folk, alternative rock and all kinds of musical sub-cultures, New Model Army refuses to belong to any club or style. Formed in Bradford in 1980, the band's lineup has changed over the years, with Justin Sullivan being the constant and central figure. They have released numerous albums and continue to tour and record music, maintaining a dedicated fanbase. Their music often addresses themes related to social and political issues, personal struggles, and the human condition, making them a significant presence in the alternative rock and post-punk music scenes. The 2019 studio album “From Here” ranked # 13 in the UK Album charts, and the 2023 live album “Sinfonia” hit #1 in the UK Music Video-Charts, making it the highest charting album in the band’s history.

Described as "Dark Motown" by Justin himself, “Unbroken” features a diverse collection of tracks that touch on topics ranging from social and political commentary to deeply personal reflections. The album is a powerful and emotionally intense body of work ranging from rebellious tracks as “I Did Nothing Wrong”, to contemplative songs like “First Summer After”. With this album, the band continues to push the boundaries of their signature sound while staying true to the themes that have made them a force to be reckoned with in the music world. “Unbroken” is the first studio album since 2019’s long-player “From Here” and the 16th studio album of the band.

    Kyle Falconer

    No Love Songs For Laura

"...an anthemic album that takes songwriter Kyle Falconer in bold new musical directions, that works the heart as much as the head, the dancing feet as much as the punching fist of joy."

As the frontman of The View, Kyle Falconer smashed into the charts with the classic singles "Same Jeans" and "Wasted Little DJs" and earned a Mercury nomination for their #1 debut album ‘Hats Off To The Buskers’. A rocket powered decade followed during which they barely let up, careering through a rock ‘n’ roll attitude both on-and-off stage. A stint in rehab was followed by another stint in rehab. The songwriter reflects on that period in new song ‘Laura’, a heart-on-the-sleeve, not-quite-title-track paean to the aforesaid missus. He started by writing more songs on piano rather than guitar, before teaming up with the producer Frankie Siragusa and using a selection of Motown, soul and funk classics as reference points. The duo spent last August christening the brand-new studio in The Libertines’ recently opened Albion Rooms hotel and arts space in Margate, playing everything on a wealth of new material that Falconer had prepared. ‘No Love Songs for Laura’ is an earworm-stuffed, summer-evoking album demanding repeat plays, streams, views, likes and clicks. For another, this is Falconer reborn and rebooted, like we’ve never heard him before.

      The Lilac Time

      Return To Us

“Return To Us” is the new album by The Lilac Time, the country folk band fronted by Stephen Duffy. The collection is their tenth so far and Stephen’s twentieth long-player in a career that has spanned four decades.

Coming off the back of five-star rave reviews for the reissue of Stephen’s album I Love My Friends, Return To Us was recorded by the three-piece of Nick Duffy, Claire Duffy and Stephen who have been the core of The Lilac Time since 1999.

The nine-track album was recorded in Stephen and Claire’s home and covers topics as diverse as The D-Day Landings (March To The Docks), auditory processing disorder and the difficulties in recognising and interpreting sounds (King Kopetsky), Italian Neorealism (A River That Runs Both Ways), life before the Internet (The Simple Things), not getting dragged back to a fictitious golden age (Return To Us), a Christmas song of sorts (The Needles) and needing ‘reassurance because the world went stupid’ ((I’m) A Believer).

Stephen Duffy: “This our first release on a major label since 1990. After a calamitous time with RCA around the recently reissued I Love My Friends album I never considered it an option. But then after our last performance at Port Eliot in 2017, we were approached by BMG’s senior scout who suggested we send our new record to them after some time we did and here it is”.

        Teenagersintokyo

        Sacrifice

In a short space of time Teenagersintokyo have come from nothing to quickly rising as one the bands to watch in 2010; selling out venues across the UK, bagging support from the likes of Zane Lowe and the NME; and most recently topping the Hype Machine chart with The Horrors remix of ‘Peter Pan’. Following the celebrated release of their self-titled EP in 2009 the band caught everyone’s attention, landing themselves international acclaim, support slots with CSS, The Slits & Gossip, a record deal with Backyard and a move to the other side of the world. This is their debut long player album which was produced by Bat For Lashes producer David Kosten.

          Lou Rhodes

          Bloom

Ex-Lamb singer Lou Rhodes follows her Mercury Prize nominated "Beloved One" with this equally impressive album. "Bloom" mixes the folkiness of her last set with a tougher edge in some tracks and more of a downbeat feel in others. Having stepped out of the shadow of Lamb with "Beloved One", "Bloom" really sees Rhodes blossom as a singer-songwriter.
