12" CARD SLEEVE

Three of the 12" vinyl discs* in Exciter | The 12" Singles are comprised of tracks first released across CD singles throughout the album campaign. Each of these new discs feature artwork reflecting the original CD single releases, to create newly compiled 12"s visually and musically complementing the initial releases. The collection includes electrifying remixes of Depeche Mode originals and the single version of "Dirt," DM's riveting interpretation of The Stooges classic.
Contains the singles on audiophile-quality 12" vinyl, with audio mastered from the original tapes. The artwork for the exterior box sets draws on iconography inspired by the original releases, while the vinyl sleeves themselves feature the original single artwork.

Brown Sugar formed in London in 1976, made up of teenagers Pauline Catlin, Caron Wheeler and Carol Simms. After Brown Sugar, Caron Wheeler became known worldwide as the vocalist in Soul II Soul, and Carol Simms launched a successful solo career under the name Kofi.
‘Black Pride’ was originally released on the Lovers Rock label, a fledgling reggae label formed by musicians Dennis Bovell and John Kpiaye and producer Dennis Harris. Brown Sugar were unique - not only were they one of the most important of the first wave of lovers rock groups, they were also the only group who managed to successfully blend together a reggae roots consciousness with a lovers rock sensibility. The classic ‘Black Pride’ perfectly reflects this unique sound.

Rather than postpone, Fire Films' James Nicholls made the unusual choice of making a deal to release the film through Sky TV, where it was an immediate success and has been shown many times since. The audience, captive at home by way of the epidemic, was far larger than hoped, and as a result, The Nightingales have emerged as one of this era's most brilliant, unorthodox and genuine bands of the post-punk. Three planned tours for the band's last album, were Covid-cancelled before a fourth attempt succeeded. With bassist Andi Schmid stuck in Germany and unable to record, the band asked three of their fans to remix tracks from Four Against Fate.
The titles - let alone the radically alterations hereon - give no clue to which tracks were remixed. Contributing their massive talents are DJ Surgeon, whose stint as an opener for Lady Gaga push the band ever closer to the charts (err, not likely, but the tune is brilliant!), The Go! Team's Ian Parton, who'd posted of his affection for the band and remains a figure of fascination, being a good dollop more talented than other young upstarts, and Randy Kuntz, whose devilish musical skills have added serious sizzle to the last few Nightingales records. As Nightingales toil on new projects, initial plans for The New Nonsense could not be realised. Worldwide vinyl pressing delays made delivery before last year's tour impossible. The project seemed destined for collector status from the start - we pressed too few copies, Robert though it would be 'novel' to set the back sleeve ninety degrees off from the front sleeve, Four Against Fate is now nearly two years old, and the creative efforts of the band did not slow during lockdown

12" 4 Track E.P. 180g black The BRILLIANT ADVENTURE E.P. has four unheard tracks from the 1.OUTSIDE era; "JOHNNY DOWNLOADER", an early version of "I'M AFRAID OF AMERICANS" recorded during the sessions with Brian Eno for the album and mixed in November 1994 but not released on a Bowie album until 1997's EARTHLING, an alternative single mix of "I HAVE NOT BEEN TO OXFORD TOWN" and two tracks, "OUTSIDE'S A SMALL PLOT OF LAND" and the Jacques Brel cover "MY DEATH", performed by Bowie and pianist Mike Garson at a fundraiser for the New York Public Theater at the Shakespeare Festival in New York on 18th September, 1995. The BRILLIANT ADVENTURE E.P. will be available on 12" vinyl and CD.

Her first-ever collection of 12" extended mixes - pressed on pink double-vinyl and featuring her 80s US top 10 pop hits "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)", "Strut" and "Sugar Walls". Includes two previously-unreleased tracks exclusive to this release - "Sweet Talker" (12" Version) and "Wanna Give My Love" (12" Version) and many recently uncovered vault tracks making their first appearance on vinyl. Top-drawer production talent includes Prince, Nile Rodgers, Narada Michael Walden and Shep Pettibone.

First time ever on 12”.
Cut super loud, and with a killer dub version on the flip.

Matt says: THE ORIGINAL RIDDIM!!! Depending on your age and however you got to this tune (there are many covers, but I'm sure The Fugees might be one of the most recognized) you may not have heard Dub Specialist's monumental (and earth shaking) dub. A timeless and as powerful a slice of dub as anything the genre has produced. It's one of those, every-home-needs-one records.TRACK LISTING

The variety range across the floor from boogie, italo, new wave, classic soulful, balearic, neo-disco, housey, downbeat, fusion, garage, to tech-disco. Tasty, hypnotizing and emotional.
A big shout-out, respect and thanks goes to Benjamin Röder, who does all the fantastic artwork for the 25 Compost Disco releases. Well, more to come soon.

The Order of The 12 is a psych folk group formed in Lewes, Sussex. It is a place of rolling hills, druids, and sorcery. There’s also a long folk tradition here, from the Copper Family to Shirley Collins, who lives just round the corner from where this album was created. It was recorded in an attic studio on the banks of Lewes Castle.
The Order of The 12 is singer Rachel Thomas, Fumaca Preta multi-instrumentalist Stuart Carter, and musician, writer and producer Richard Norris (the Grid/Beyond The Wizards Sleeve).
The album is a richly melodic set of tales of lost love, pagan magic and the lore of nature. There’s a strong sense of the rolling countryside in the music, and it’s connection with those who live within its hills. Echoes of Sandy Denny, Trees, Mellow Candle, and all manner of psych folk soundtrack from the Wicker Man onwards are evoked in its rich sonic brew.
Rachel Thomas – Vocals
Stuart Carter – Guitars
Richard Norris – Keyboards, percussion, drums

"Relax" is soft, grooving disco; delicate yet subtle driving and perfectly typifying that iconic 'Loft' sound (complete with uplifting key changes and perc sections). It's the very essence of disco executed with Brazilian flair.
Rabo De Saia's "Ripa Na Xulipa" is pure feel good boogie vibes. I just wish I knew what they were chirping on about! It sounds fun whatever it is and the language barrier certainly won't prevent you from shaking a tail feather or two to this one!
NTR tames Famks' "Labirinto" into a sultry Sunday session jam. Mid energy, heavily grooving and with that warmth and sentiment you need towards the end of the weekend.
Unmissable stuff here from Favourite and team - highly recommended.

Elado kicks things off with a highly infectious sing-a-long boogie affair that is guaranteed to get those hands in the air. Mouth watering and head spinning, this Brazilian cocktail is packed to the gills with monkey drums, sumptuous string arrangements and plenty of mid tempo disco brilliance.
While on the flip, Pinheiro's more wonky, heads down disco beast is perfect for when you really want to feel the heat. Filters set to stun, chopped vocals chucked into the rhythm section and plenty of additional electronic weirdness, this one is a proper disco bumper.

Fans of his squelchy, organic and blurred house music stylings are in for a treat here as he rides the pads, perx and compressors on first track "ElypsiaDANCEsentence"; characterized by one of his deep set, tribal bass patterns. While on "RotherDAMM", up next, we get the swirling, primitive cosmic techno / machine funk which has also charmed much of his loyal fanbase in the past and not a million miles away from the current FireScope remit...
Side B opens up with a chaotic, rigid jacker which would make Frak themselves sit up and take note. There's more loooose, psychedelic house music on "TranceCANs" before "RAMframe" concludes proceedings with one of his trademark breakbeat hybrids which you also find SVN and Sotofett dipping their digits in from time to time...
Mega stuff from this unique and elusive talent!

Hot on the heels of the smash "Things You Do For Love" seven inch.
"Down That Road" features the ultra smooth vocals of Los Angeles' Harriet Brown. An intimate London by L.A. via D.C. connection.
Brown's contemplative lyrics meet Apiento's rainforest synths & massive low-end pressure. Patient dancers are rewarded halfway with a dope sunrise acid bass. Serious smiley face biz! Multiple mixes with a trippy ambient dub & a cute padapella.
World Building ensure they're talk of the town as the year draws to close with this essential twelve from Apiento.

After nearly sixteen years since its last entry, the longest-running mix tape in existence, Desert Sessions returns with two stunning new volumes in its already storied catalog, Vol. 11 & 12, featuring collaborations from Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Les Claypool (Primus), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Mike Kerr (Royal Blood), Carla Azar (Autolux, Jack White), Matt Sweeney (Chavez), David Catching (Co-founder of Rancho De La Luna studio), comedian Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows), Töôrnst Hülpft and newcomer Libby Grace.
STAFF COMMENTS
Barry says: It looks pretty mad, I know. Josh Homme collaborates with various standout members of rock / indie / grunge royalty (plus a killer tune with Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters), but believe me, it's very good. Country tinged rock, foot-stomping psychedelic shredding and damn good songwriting make for a really interesting combination of sounds, and in the end, a brilliant LP.TRACK LISTING

Back in 2001 Hefner (Darren Hayman’s previous band) released a single called Alan Bean about the 4th man on the moon (an all new version is included on 12 Astronauts). In 2011 he contributed songs and pictures to Vostok 5, a London exhibition (and compilation album) about people and animals in space (he has also illustrated the cover of 12 Astronauts). In March 2014, as part of a year-long residency at Dalston’s Vortex, he played a set of his space-related songs supported by Robin Ince (this included the live debut of a number of tracks from 12 Astronauts).
His record label, ‘Belka’, is named for one of the first two dogs to go into earth orbit and return alive, so it should come as no surprise that the 12 Astronauts were in the back of his mind while he researched, wrote and recorded his classics about Thankful Villages, the Essex Witch Trials, Lidos, William Morris and British seaside resorts. The songs are works of historical fiction. Although Darren researched heavily he is essentially imagining himself as each astronaut and singing in the first person. The songs are not all set during the Apollo missions. Buzz Aldrin battles with his demons and fights for his marriage. Pete Conrad sympathises with his partner’s fear of an accident in flight. David Scott wonders what happened to his bodyguard on his press tour. Gene Cernan list every object he can think of that was left on the moon. Although the subject is big Darren has always written songs about small things and this album is no different. Darren collects together tiny moments from magnificent lives.' The album itself is curious in its genesis as Darren conceived and started the album back in 2008 and only recently came back to complete it. Some of the vocals are recorded 10 years apart.

.Paak also made his debut SNL appearance performing "Tints" as well as "Who R U?" off his recent album "Oxnard", his third LP and first on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. The album marked a career high for him debuting as the #1 Independent album in the US according to Billboard as well as debuting at #5 on the Rap chart, #6 on the hip-hop / R&B chart and #11 on the Top 200. The phenomenal album was executive produced by Dr. Dre and features the likes of hip-hop legends Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, J. Cole, Q-Tip, and Pusha T. Following the album’s release, .Paak has been on a sold-out tour in both the US and Europe, with fans anxious to see his energetic and captivating live performances.
Only five months after Oxnard’s release, Anderson .Paak’s latest project Ventura switches gears to soul from the grit and urgency that Oxnard brought acting as a juxtaposition to the two towns where .Paak grew up. Anderson explains:
'Growing up in Oxnard gave me the grit and the church to find this voice of mine. One town over I went further and found my depth. The duality of each place inspired me greatly and from that I made two albums at the exact same time but held one back because that would have been too many songs to perform live for you all! I like ending things on an even number so welcome to "Ventura".'
STAFF COMMENTS
Martin says: An absolutely killer new outing from senior .Paak here, brilliantly displaying a refracted rainbow of R&B influences, brought together with his forward thinking lyrical content and staggeringly effective rhythmic flow.TRACK LISTING

The journey so far saw Bloodjoy release his AA debut single ‘Broken Window/Scandinavian Girlfriend’ on DIY label Sister 9 Recordings in December 2015. This sold out 7” blood red vinyl single was mastered by Sonic Boom. Shortly after a successful 10 date tour of Spain First EP Psyche Attack Theories was also released by Sister 9 Recordings in December 2016 The EP came in the form of a limited edition download digipak, complete with unique artwork and lyrical content.
The concept behind the EP was regarding the fact that unseen, dark forces can play havoc on the human psyche, it was lauded as “brilliantly dark and raucously noisy”. Love Is a Fucked up Goddess – Part One was Rhys’ second EP released on Eggs in Aspic on limited edition cassette which sold out almost instantly. The release received critical acclaim and was praised as “a shadowy tapestry that’s all at once darkly set and kaleidoscopically mesmeric’.
The end of 2017 saw Rhys retreat into the Spanish mountains, before returning this Spring with Love Is a Fucked up Goddess – Part Two released via Eggs in Aspic and completes the dark duo; this release also sold out. This brings us up to date and confirms the announcement of the vinyl release of Love Is a Fucked up Goddess – Parts II & I, which features both EPs in full and additional bonus tracks. From the hypnotic, pulsating vibes of ‘Silver Lips’, through to the menacing darkness that exudes from ‘A Banshee’s Lament’ this collection of tracks has something to suit every palette and will attract a new audience into the world of Bloodjoy as well as honour the faithful. Lead single ‘Polly Brown’ will propel the release, with its characteristic onslaught of sound that instantly leaves you breathless and compelled.

Born Brandon Paak Anderson in Oxnard, California, his extraordinary talent was fully realized under the name Anderson .Paak with his debut Venice and a stellar six-song run on Dr. Dre’s certified Gold COMPTON album, culminating in the perfect storm of his sophomore release, 2016’s Malibu. A seamless tsunami of soul-stirring, body-shaking, infectious and deeply-personal songs with features by artists such as ScHoolboy Q, The Game, Talib Kweli and power producers including 9th Wonder, Robert Glasper, Kaytranada and more, Malibu was met with universal rave reviews, major nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Urban Contemporary Album Grammy nods, and a hail of award wins. In late 2016, .Paak and producer Knxwledge – as the duo NxWorries - released the album Yes Lawd!, reaching #3 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart.
With impressive collaborations with acts such as Mac Miller (whose song Dang! featuring .Paak was certified Gold), a stream of requests to work with renowned artists, and instantly recognizable hits in national ad campaigns, popular television shows, and on the big screen, .Paak is now ready for his next major move with the release of his highly-anticipated first album on Dr. Dre’s Aftermath label.

This record was abstract and unique in it's conception, it was a coming together of not just a band but also of the people who have followed the band and who joined us in the studio for the recording of the album. Having two drummers created the perfect foundation for the songs as they both play the same beats but the slight inflections and movement between them creates a constant pulsing rhythmical shift. For me it was important to be doing this album with Chris Davis, the original drummer from six by seven and someone I had grown up with in music. Without explanation he understood what was needed to make this record work. Added to this we had the technical skills of second drummer Charlie and Chris Moore on the Fender VI. Chris added a unique sound to the music and plays like no other bass / guitar player, offering only minimal tight bass lines with an occasional extra note played into the perfect pocket, just to remind you that he is there." It's a beautiful package in itself, but focusing on that is obviously doing an injustice to the superb work put in by all the producers to create this mindblowing excercise in cohabitational production and community-minded collaboration.
We kick things off with the glitched hip-hop aestetics and stoner haze of the Mad Wash rework of Zen The Sharpshooters' 'Every Lil' Bit', bringing the hot-boxed haze and relaxing the muscles before The Fire Beneath The Sea's 'Error Correction' sees a pitch-bent funked-out remix, grounded with insistent shuffled hi-hats and wah'd out guitars, before the legendary Galactic Funk Milita's festival vibe is chopped into a syncopated latin stomp for a rubberlips rework.
On the flipside, David J Boswell's haunting electro-folk goes full dubstep in the more than capable hands of the forward-facing electronic euphorics of Liverpool electronic virtuoso, Afternaut before Denham Audio bring forth a clattering industrial fractalisation of Hang Syem's 'Frontier J'.
The following track is possibly my favourite on the compilation (but with enough material on here to keep even the most diverse of tastes more than happy, I expect yours will be different), and comes from Sheffield wunderkind, Yak. Snappy percussion and perfectly measured electronic stabs bring a disphoric syncopation to the already excellent 'Wicked Sound' by Grievous Angel.
Onto the final side now, (the last being blank for you to admire the gorgous sky-blue marbling) and R. Lyle takes Apta's 'Tides' and breaks it down into a simmering futuristic haze of reversed reverbs and hazy throbs, before the arshaw remix of my personal favourite release of the lot, in Bemp's 'Minotaur', culminating in a psychedelic propulsive stomper, courtesy of the aforementioned Yak and YAKONA. A match made in heaven.

Recorded on June 12 1970 - the sound is just amazing: a stoned lysergic wall of acid guitars jamming away and never letting up, pounding bass, furious drums and mystical howling vocals. A true landmark and cornerstone in Swedish psychedelic music history , there's nothing like this bunch of progressive hippie Swedes reared on minimalism.
Contains a mind-bending sidelong previously unreleased track, revised liner notes and loads of previously unpublished photo.

‘Live at the 12 Bar’ was recorded in 1995 at the legendary London music venue and is a fitting tribute not only to Bert’s virtuosity but to this renowned hub for folk music and other genres. Bert’s meticulous performance brings together songs from ‘When The Circus Comes To Town’, released in the same year, along with the haunting reworking of ‘Blues Run The Game’ (written by Earth’s own Jackson C. Frank) and traditional folk songs ‘Curragh Of Kildare’ and ‘Lily Of The West’ which were staples in Jansch’s repertoire. ‘Live at the 12 Bar’ captures an intimate gig that’s richly brought to life by his spellbinding ability to hold a room. The warmth and reverent silence from fans reminds us of what it was like to attend his shows and the true legend that we have lost. Two decades after its first release, ‘Live At The 12 Bar’ is issued for the first time on vinyl. This exceptional record is the first release in Earth Recordings’ new extensive reissue series of Bert Jansch catalogue.

Now Night Slugs are pleased to announce an album of new material from the producer and labelhead; his first full work since 2011’s ‘Southside’ EP and its club anthem ‘Silo Pass’.
Expanding on a theme first started on the ‘MJT’ white label in 2012, this EP sees Bok create a replicant electro-funk, built with fragments of classics, arranged with a grime logic and weaponised with 2014 sub-weight.
The ‘Melba’s Call’ video is the setting for the entire EP, reverb from the bare concrete walls of the bunker-studio can be heard throughout. A central greenhouse is filled with a steamy jungle of corporate flora, unsettlingly hyper-real, like the warmth of the record’s sample material is being rendered bionic, pumped through military-grade equipment.
Running through the tracks is the influence of London’s futuristic millennial music - grime. The brutalism of alternating 8-bar structures is the DNA of Bok Bok’s productions. These tracks continue in the tradition of R&G (Rhythm & Grime) and its project to blend the soul of R&B with the potency of grime. Propelled by melody and at times almost sadistic in their repetition, the club tracks of the record play with pain and pleasure, while the two shorter ‘Greenhouse’ tracks allow brief moments of stillness.
And ‘Your Charizmatic Self’? It’s a reference to the source material and the exuberance of original live performances captured and automated. It’s also a message of charm and positivity, of self-realization.
Double LP in black paper inners in 5mm spine sleeve, with download card which features a bonus, digital only track.

Me and My Kites are a new band, from Sweden.
Why is that relevant? They are named after a song on Fuchsia's album, which must say something about their influences and, on their first-ever single, it’s all the more appropriate as Fuchsia's original lead singer Tony Durant wrote and now sings a new version of Fuchsia's song 'The Band' on the a-side (remember those?) of this new 7” on FdM’s Regal Crabomophone label.
The b-side is dedicated to Kevin Ayers, and is an extended version of the Me And My Kites song, Isis’ Adventure, from the band’s new album, ‘Like A Dream Back Then’)
I hope you like it.

Lanu’s vision is completed by the captivating vocals of Megan Washington - one of Australia’s biggest and brightest new stars. Washington appears on all the vocal tracks - five in total. This pairing has created a sound that mixes modern, kooky immediacy and timeless charm. Think the eclectic, crossover appeal of Little Dragon, Feist, Emiliana Torrini, Charlotte Gainsbourg or Janelle Monae.
