About this item
The tuffest man in show business is back to put his editing scalpel to work on another three soul classics. Up first, is his loopy, filter disco rework of Change's super smooth "Lover's Holiday", featuring the smoky sound of Luther Vandross. Rippling with side-chain compression this one builds and builds without ever letting up on the intensity. For the main course Late Nite Tuff Guy serves up the neck breaking funk of Rufus & Chaka Khan's "You Got The Love" (not that "You Got The Love") which stares you down with strutting guitars then launches into its classic memphis soul chorus. That leaves us with the sweetest of desserts as Bill Withers' "Lovely Day" gets the Tuff Cut extension. Don't fear, despite the added drums and thick bass, this pudding is light as a feather and has been treated with gentle touch.
