This is the first release by the Jayson Brothers on Motor City Drum Ensemble's Raw Cuts imprint. With a little help from MCDE's arranging skills, the two Jayson Brothers continue what the previous Raw Cuts twelves started: Bringing back some dirt, samples and emotion into today's house music scene. "Monster Box", with its swinging 909 kicks, clipped disco beat and Rhodes / guitar combination sounds like a lost Strictly Rhythm gem from the early 90s - wait for the killer female vocal sample in the middle. The more beatdown "All My Life" could even be released way back in the late 70s - it's a disco re-edit, but brings extra samples into the equation. You'll be surprised how this will rock your floor at just 105bpm! Both sides are recommended!
