About this item
One of the most inspirational UK bands of all time, Dexys always stuck out from the crowd, sartorially and musically. Two enormous No.1 songs ("Geno" and "Come On Eileen") and three really different LPs are their legacy but in Kevin Rowlands words, beliefs and passions, something other, much more was intimated. And then there's the tunes: skyscrapingly catchy, beaty and punchy, unique singing. New song "Manhood" is heartrenchingly uplifting (only marred slightly by a dodgy production) and elsewhere you get non-album singles and the best three songs off "Don't Stand Me Down", their last and oddest album that some love, some loathe. If you don't know about Dexys but love passion and melody, this is the perfect place to start.
