About this item

More new tackle from the Beatconductor. After gracing us with his new label 7" Gatt last week, he on one of his more long running imprints, Soundscapes, with a 12" offering...

Electric mash-ups are order of the day here. Starting with a high voltage, downtempo tweak of Gladys Knight & The Pips' "Neighher One Of Us" which matches a moody and shadowed instrumental to those heartwrenching lyrics.

Whitney Houston's "I Get So Emotional" is redecorated with a house music aesthetic. Deep piano chords and 4/4 drum boxes forcing this one strictly into the club and perfectly complimenting the fierce emotion present through one of Whitney's most sterling vocal deliveries.

A closing curveball, "Simmer Down" sees our trusty Swede work his magic on modern pop starlet, Hayley Williams' parental breakup smash "Simmer". He transforms it into a radiant, grooving, mid-session soul-disco number with exquisite bass and bright guitar chops; taking the sentiment far away from the original's!

Unbeatable stuff from the king of the mash-up! Limited import copies...

Matt says: Marvellous modern mash-ups from the Beatconductor. He's on a roll right now! That Whitney edit is fire, and the melancholic downbeat of Gladys Knight is also a headturner. Big tip!
