The Rolling Stones have easily won the record of longevity among rock bands with 60 years of career! This is a good opportunity to go back and explore their rich musical influences, which is the challenge of this new double LP collection "Origins" featuring 36 tracks. This album splits The Stones numerous influences into our chapters.
The A-side features black bluesmen such as Muddy Waters and his famous Rollin' Stone, which gave the band it's name. But also Chuck Berry, Howlin' Wolf and the pioneer Robert Johnson with his famous Love In Vain. On the B side, white rock'n'roll with the American pioneers Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran. Bur also the English ones with Cliff Richard, Johnny Kidd and Alexis Korner with Whom they started. Back to black American music on Sides C and D, with rhythm & blues and soul music, including Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding and Solomon Burke. Among the 36 songs included, 21 were covered by the Rolling Stones and the other 15 had a major influence on them. Here are 36 good reasons to dive into the musical universe of the world's greatest rock band, still alive 60 years after it's creation!
