About this item
The first volume of Guest edits was a big favourite round these parts and I'm delighted to say that Vol. 2 is every bit as brill as its predecessor. Once again we get precious gems mined from a wall of vinyl. Cut, polished, and mounted for maximum love.
Our party starts with a frisky biscuit on the A1, the frothy disco delight of "Happens At Night", a magical melange of strings, horns and female vocals which conjures images of dizzying mirrorballs and DJ Harvey winking. From there we head to Italy with a wicked little mix of Ennio Morricone's "Come Maddalena", a certified cosmic classic with twinkling chimes, cooing vocals and a rubbery bassline. On the B1 "Sisters" is the cooler low slung sibling of the A1, giving us disco energy at hip thrusting tempo - I'm unsure whether we're doing the hustle or the bump here, but once the Moog squelch bursts forth I'm doing my trademark frog dance. As with the first volume, Guest reserves the B2 for a slow cosmic / Balearic masterpiece, all steady bass groove, spacey FX and low male vocal - always a winner for me.

B2. Lost In The Universe
