About this item

Barely taking a breath since he SMASHED Vol. 1 out the park (thanks in no small part to an incredibly boogie version of 'Gypsy Woman') Love is back with Round Two of his De-Mix series, providing us with three shimmering, ‘80s electro boogie workouts, guaranteed to seduce any tentative souls or shy shufflers to the dancefloor.

On the A-side, Loveface turns his attention to the Stevie-inspired chords and melodies of Chaka & Rufus' heavy funk moment "Tell Me Something Good", pitching the vocals up to a peaktime tempo, then slapping them on top of another blinding electro-disco groove. Packed with phat bass, sparkling synths and period drum programming, this is, once again, the tits. The A2 strips things back and smooths them out for a tasty dub of the same ingredients, and then it's over to the other side for more mirrorball magic. Making extensive use of those Prelude / West End style synth trills (think Imagination and Idjuts) and a super funky vocal, "Larry's Groove" sees Loveface supply everything you need to pack the dancefloor.

Patrick says: Anyone who can put a fresh lick of paint on Gypsy Woman without committing sacrilege gets a gold star in my book, and happily Loveface continues to bring the goods on the second Volume. Spin the A-side for the boogie-fied Rufus and Chaka mix that never was!

A1. Tell Me
