About this item
Oooof! Setting my tail feathers alight this week it's the turn of Mr Stone who's revamped MJ Cole's UKG classic, "Sincere" into a pumping house jam. 'Shir Khan-ing' the fuck outta the classic reversed string sample that graces the OG; and twisting the sax stabs into an entirely new riff, Mr Stone leaves just enough trace structure, foundations and elements for us to recognize the spine-tingling beauty of this true dancefloor classic. Then he goes on an M1 organ rampage towards the end of the track, elevating it into historic territory once again. This one's guaranteed repeat spins allll year massive!
If "Drive" is a re-edit / remix of any form, then I'mma have to hold my hands up and say it's a new one on me. The vocal sounds seductive and silky enough to have graced any number of classic dance records and I'm inclined to think it's been pumped and pulled through the compressors and outboard of Mr Stone's equipment as he loads up archetypal 'lo-fi house' presets into the processing boards. Expert stuff here essential for any house DJs worth their salt!
Matt says: A house refix off MJ Cole's classic "Sincere"? Yes please bishop! This is exactly what I need to kick off party season...
