Edit enterprising is well alive and kicking in 2019. This new label shows that imagination has no limits or boundaries and that there is still plenty of music to be 're-edited'. Private Pleasure starts proceedings with 'Dub It Again', a gentle balearic-esque, dubby and soothing number that will be liked both at home and out which I have just been secretly told that the original is by Steely Dan. The beautiful guitar riffs will reverberate for years to come. Followed by funky vibes and faster beats on 'For The Thrill' which is as great as any William Onyeabor track out there. It is officially party time when this tune hits the speakers.
Closing act is 'Bustin', my favourite cut here. An 80s beat focused monster that sounds like a Blancmange instrumental. This is deep and a bit dark, A great dancefloor warmer.
A serious contender in the edit world, we salute you Private Pleasure whoever you are!
Sil says: Three cuts of blissful edits of all kinds by a new label that has hit the ground running. 80s, balearic and world! Top choice of this week for silly me.
