About this item
Here's a home run for the Dekmantel Selectors crowd if ever I've heard one! Child prodigy Davidson fired up the Casio and composed this zouk-tinged proto house version of disco / soul favourite and end of night classic "Going Back To My Roots" back in 1989. Despite making waves on local FM radio and doing a little damage in the French club scene, the tune didn't breakthrough at the time, but did go on to become a holy grail for diggers in France and beyond. Now, with permission from Davidson himself, Royer Records reissue this gem for a special 30th anniversary edition. Powered by digital keys, reverb soaked drums and some killer synth lines, the cut takes the coastal road to the tropics, taking the impactful lyrics on a world tour. Backed with the instrumental, as with the original release, this is gonna slay them at the disco, wedding, BBQ or bar mitzvah.
Patrick says: Digger-catnip here - how do you fancy a zouk / proto-house inspired cover of the end of night classic, performed and recorded by a French child? Mint!
