About this item
Prins Thomas extends the ecstacy of his recent "Ambitions" LP with the first in a series of remix 12"s. This time round, Thomas turns out a sumptuous Diskomiks of the album's lone vocal track "Feel The Love", before calling in German pal Lauer for a pair of B-side remixes.
In its original album form, found on the A2, "Feel The Love" (based around a sample of the track "Feel A Love" by one of the biggest pop-stars in Norway in the 70s and 80s, the late Alex Naumik) is a slinky and sultry Balearic bopper, which places a pillowy, choral vocal part over boogie bass and sharp keyboard stabs to achieve a 10cc meets Washed Out groove. For his Diskomiks, Thomas ups the tempo, lays down one of his killer one note basslines and gets stuck into the disco strings and dreamy vocals of the original, working the club 4/4 and filter for post peak euphoria before dubbing out into instrumental bliss towards the end. On the flipside, Tuff City Kid Phillip Lauer offers a pair of reinterpretations, the rampant electrodisco of the B1, and the more stripped back and subdued P-bar pressure on the B2.
