Shir Khan's Black Jukebox 25

About this item

Shir Khan returns with his infamous Black Jukebox. As usual, mega limited, so get those orders in quick if you want in.

New producer Enduro Disco presents four solo originals that shun the sample based aesthetic of previous BJs for a more electronically produced and sequenced take on deep house. "The Knowledge" introduces the EP through a slow and steady climb, wobbly bass shards and a suspended pad holding our attention as the excitement levels rise. "Believe" sees the first proper rush of endorphins burst off the wax, as a scintillating synthetic soundbed ripples and fizzes through our core in a exquisite display of blissed-out prowess.

Flip the disc and "Lion Noir" contrasts a filphy and grinding house groove against dubbed out fragments of vocals off "Feel Up" by Grace Jones. Anyone that needed reminding why Shir Khan's kill the terrace every single time should need no more convincing after hearing this one.... Finally, "Last Track On Earth" keeps the jeep's bassbins booming all through the drive home, ready to get loose and frisky at whatever after party awaits. A redolent but pounding house loop inviting a whole manner of imagination and aspirations into its welcoming and sensuous core... One of the best BJs for a while this one folks - do miss out!
