About this item
The third release on null+void Recordings comes from Manchester based artist Dead Sound, who on his "This is Human" has fully expressed his expert knack for laying down engrossing hooks on a solid bed of grooves. Working between slinky electro and cerebral techno all with a sharp edge.
"1st Line" definitely spirals into the headspace of the psychedelically inclined. A swirling plume of technoid prowess with aquatic, bubbly elements underpinned by a concentric kick drum pattern. "I Want You" introduces itself on suspended strings before dropping to a nagging, acidic electro groove that you might catch Radioactive Man or DMX Krew wigging out to late in the session. "Fair" is a grating, tearing slice of hallucinatory techno that should eek out the real heads from the pretenders on the dancefloor; real deal tackle you'd certainly catch Death Of Rave label head Conor Thomas utilizing to deadly affect out in the field. "This Is Human" completes with a rumbling sub pattern bolstered with gated perc hits and a rampant techno hat pattern that brings to mind the aircraft-taking-off brilliance of late Forward Strategy Group. Storming stuff!
Matt says: Tasty lil label that mighta snuck under yer radar... null+void satify those with a penchant for naggling, cerebral electronics and pneuamtic dancefloor tension.
