About this item

Horatio Luna is a Melbourne Bassist, composer, producer and founder of soul outfit 30/70 (Rhythm Section Intl). The left-leaning jazz musician known for his boldly experimental compostitions moves towards a soulful-house sound on 'Cultural Warriors'. The record features the innovations of jazz-soul-bap producer/instrumentalists Nap King Cole (Silent Jay x Jace XL) Perrin Moss (Hiatus Kaiyote) and Ziggy Zeitgeist (Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange). Who have each in their own right recreated and reinvented the ideology of what it means to be a jazz musician in the modern age. It’s been featured widely from being played by Gilles Peterson on his BBC6 & World Wide FM Radio Show, reviewed by Pitchfork's Megan Buerger, featured in New York based media outlet Indie Current. Extensive rotation on Australian Community Radio (RRR,FBi,PBS). It has also been supported by Rhythm Sections Bradley Zero on his NTS Radio show, featured on Bandcamps Weekly Radio Show as well as New & Notable on their homepage. Basically, this is a killer and everyone can’t get enough of it!

Millie says: Horatio Luna is nailing this soulful-house vibe over here on the new release Cultural Warriors. It's been endorsed by the likes of NTS and Rhythm Section, it's set to be a hazy-house summer backdrop record.
