About this item

Ensconced at the Infinity nightclub in the Sheraton Waikiki, Phase 7 was Hawaiian disco royalty during the mid-1970s. Originally founded by Van de Guzman and Hemingway Jasmin, the group featured the island’s top brass players and a whole load of groove heavy soul. We just stuck A-side cut "So Good To Be In Love" on the Piccadilly player and got a masterclass in Brazilian dancing from the one and only Martin Evans. Alive with bossa rhythms, monkey drums, twinkling Rhodes and breezy guitar licks, this is just the right cut for anyone who's had their hips unlocked... Over on the flip, "Could It Be Love" gets superbly slushy on a mellow soul tip, taking the loved up falsetto of Curtis or the Delfonics into warming AOR territories.
