About this item

Old school New York and Chicago referencing house from The He-Men and Dawl. Think Da Posse, Todd Terry, Frankie Bones and you're halfway there. All killer no filler from the Tone Dropout crew! "Flamingo" sees The He0Men introduce us to the warehouse with a massive smiley face and lazer-guided 303s. Huge breakdowns adding to the seretonin-flooded release that goes hand-in-hand with music of this style - aciiiieeeed! "Chingo" sees the producers delve more into late night, intergalactic deep trip territory; space-age arpeggios building tension and atmosphere as a rampant percussion section and ethereal pad bank polish this rare extra terristrial nugget. Flip the record and we get the other side of the rave with a proper 90s break hardcore revival! Dawl's "Breakout" unpacking familiar breakbeats and peppering them with bleepy goodness and growling subs. Finally "Party's In The Basement" touches on progressive leanings as we get more sampletastic breaks over choppy rave vox, piano stabs and nagging acid lines. Excellent stuff for another with a penchant for the glory days of warehouse music.
