In 1964 Gordon Lightfoot wrote "For Lovin' Me" and "Early Morning Rain" which became worldwide hits for Peter, Paul & Mary and opened doors for the newest songwriting talent to emerge on the folk roots scene. Numerous artist covered his songs (Elvis Presley did "Early Morning Rain" too) but it wasn't until 1970 and the release of the classic "If You Could Read My Mind" that Lightfoot achieved success for one of his own recordings. Others followed and this twenty track selection features the very best of them.
