About this item

dbh is Dan Bridgewood-Hill, who for some time has had a hand in an inordinate amount of the great music emerging from Manchester’s D.I.Y. scene. His guitar playing drives the exhilarating prog racket of NASDAQ and FTSE 100, and his contributions on all manner of instruments have illuminated the music of Charles Hayward (This Heat), Kiran Leonard and Irma Vep, to name but a few. As dbh, he plays lovingly crafted instrumentals, enunciating his passion for popular music with a languid, progressive guitar style and playful experimentation. The unreleased track, "Sea Retreat", was selected by Hayden Pedigo to appear on Tompkin Square's (Daniel Bachman, James Blackshaw, William Tyler, et al.) latest solo guitar compilation, "Imaginational Anthem Vol. 7". Mood is dbh's second album and is the follow-up to "Time Flies" (Crowfoot Records, 2013). All eleven songs were recorded and mixed by Karl Sveinsson at Queens Ark Audio, and mastered by George Atkins at 80 Hertz Studios, February through March, 2015. The CD / LP is packaged in a letterpress sleeve printed at the Red Plate Press. dbh will be performing live through out the UK and Europe in 2015.

Matt says: Wonderful return of my favourite 6-string maestro with more of his inimitable progressive guitar style. Warm, welcoming and full of character; it's not unreasonable to say that dbh is OUR generation's John Fahey / Robbie Basho. His songs are that developed and strong in their own right, and as soon as you here those first few notes, you know its dbh.
