Loved Ones have been hibernating since winning the inaugural Get Into This Award for new Liverpool music in April; but unlike certain tree-dwelling mammals we could mention, they haven’t been wasting our time.

They have been recording new tracks for their debut album including this new single 'Weekends Are Ours' whilst re-recording some others, writing and performing a radio play based on Olaf Stapledon's sci-fi epic The Last and First Men for Radio Merseyside, remixing other artists (Dan Croll, White Belt Yellow Tag, Vasco Da Gama), they are now releasing their vinyl debut which is steeped in romance, warmth and seduction.

Laura says: A sweet, haunting slice of folk-tinged, expansive pop from this Liverpool band. 'Weekends Are Ours' tumbles along on a shuffling rhythm, embellished with strings and subtle electronics.
