About this item

Wicked dub album from Lee Perry recorded at The Black Ark studio originally released in 1983 but musically from 1977/78. Featuring heavyweight dubs of tunes by Jolly Brothers, Leroy Sibbles, Earl Sixteen & Mikey Dread. Definitely falling on the dusty, lo-fi, rough-around-the-edges aspect of the Lee Perry cannon, these dubs reek of ganja smoke and free-spirited experimentation in sound. Personally, this is the most rewarding side of this enigmatic producer for me; warm, inviting songs which hum and buzz in all the right areas, often with a catchy chorus but bathed in dub-delay and flange. Bass heavy and direct, these are gonna sound as good today as they did back in the 80s, especially on your local soundsystem. Jah!
