About this item

Black Cash & Theo aka Mr Thelonious is at the heart of the Galaxy Sound Co label with his ever-excellent array of soul, jazz, Afro and funk edits. Next up for the superb scalpel wielder is a collection of drum breaks rescued from the unloved corners of his local record shops, and he flips them all into shiny new treasures. 'Word Games' has a feathery break with Bob James-style flutes and keys, 'Time' is more pronounced and driven by double bass and 'Bells Open Drum' is a bigger drop. There's late-night hip-hop swagger to 'Milkyway Instrumental', diva vocal flair to 'Alley ', party-starting roughness on 'Big Chief' that closes out a very handy 7".
