About this item

With nearly 20 albums and a similar amount of EPs & remixes for labels such as Firescope, Exalt, Childhood Intelligence, Deeptrax, Fourier, Form@ out of Tokyo, Magnonic Signals and his own Spacetime Recordings; Darren Nye is one of the more prolific producers of the deep-tech-soul sound originated by B12, As One & Status in the early 90s. "Lunar Refraction" is a 6 track exploration of intergalactic sounds, swirling pads, bubbling bass, analogue drum sounds and Detroit influenced synth riffs & stabs. Other influences shine through - the 70s Kosmiche Krautrock feel of "Solar Drift", the Fingers style bass of "Perception Shift" & the ethereal acidic breakbeat "What Is The Answer" recalling early Plaid & Mo Wax era Stasis. Currently being hammered by Manchester's Damo B on his Outta Limits radio show; System One continue to ply their sumptious remit of bass, beats, pads n bleeps! Recommended.
