Recorded at Sear Sound Studio in New York City, the album represents a lean, intimate, and organic evolution in Orton's sound. Departing further from the trip-hop and "folktronica" production of her earlier releases, Comfort of Strangers focuses on raw, minimalist folk-rock arrangements and emotive songwriting
