About this item

Jim Legxacy's mixtape homeless n*gga pop music arrives on LP & CD for the first time via XL Recordings. The 3x BRIT Award nominated and MOBO Award winning artist broke through with the 2023 project to critical acclaim, with the South-Londoner grappling with his relationships, identity, and homelessness. The mixtape is an impressive collision of midwest emo guitar samples, UK drill, afrobeats, and Jersey club, not only reshaping what UK music can sound like, but what it can stand for — a bold, fully-formed record that could only have come from one mind.

STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: A bafflingly smooth mix of deep neo soul, clattering old-school hip hop beats and pitch-shifted sample manipulation that not only moves effortlessly through hundreds of grooves, but keeps everything moving toward the same thematic goal. Brilliantly inventive and a very fun listen.
