Beijinho Do Brasil bring you the debut from Soulma 23, a new project from veteran Merseyside producer Mark Kyriacou and Rio's Nabisi. One of our favorite albums of the last few years was Mark's "Transmission Towers" LP on Luke Una's É Soul Cultura imprint. Mark reached out to Beijinho Do Brasil recently, looking for a vocalist from Brazil, so they had to link him up with Nabisi, an artist whose samba/punk roots seemed to match Mark's maverick style. Soulma 23 was born, a mixture of emotive, left-field electronic soul with tri-lingual lyrics that provide an ethereal melodic juxtaposition to the dense crackle and hum of Mark's synths. The result is truly special and arrives here in precious 7" format. Limited copies. Move quick!
