About this item

Manchester legend Zed Bias (aka Maddslinky) is a pioneering producer and DJ whose influence has helped shape UKG, 2-step, broken Beat and UKF. Always miles ahead of the pack production-wise, the producer has remained a constant on forward thinking, bass-centric dancefloors for well over 20 years and is in our humble opinion, a treasure in the crowd of UK soundsystem music.

This release marks the first in a new archival series, opening the Biasonic vaults to showcase rare and essential recordings spanning multiple genres and decades of groundbreaking music.

With a strictly limited pressing, this is a must-have for collectors and fans alike!

A-side tracks "Boss Skank" and "Tug" perfectly showcase Zed's uncanny ability to concoct infectious drum funk with the most minimal of elements. Proper breakbeat science, imparting kinetics where you wouldn't think they could exist. He's one of the masters of this shit.

On side B "Ye" displays a UKF-breakbeat hybrid roller with the kind of white hot simmering restraint, yet consistently elevating energy that's as sheer display of his breakbeat voodoo as any other example across his vast catalogue.

"Copper" concludes with just a straight up, UK bass house slammer. Designed for carnivals and soundsystems in the open air and steaming hot summer. Take cover!

Essential tackle from one of the UK's greatest producers. Recommended.

STAFF COMMENTS

Matt says: Stone cold G, musical pioneer, soundsystem wrecker and bass music godfather Zed Bias unleashes some archive heat that's been in the cooler until he deemed it suitable for pubic consumption. Which is now. Aren't we lucky.
