About this item
Life & Death kick off their "Peak-Time Archive" series with an EP that's equally compelling and inventive; enlisting four producers not scared of pushing the envelope of this thing we call house. Jennifer Loveless - Guardian Artist To Watch, Mixmag Track of the Year recipient, and alumni of !K7, Future Classic and Butter Sessions - opens with "Satisfaction", a warm, sublime, body-moving slice of techy goodness that's deliciously futuristic and stylishly subtle.
UK mystery producer ROKAR follows with "Bedroom Headliner", a garage-rooted, sub-bass-powered house cut that blurs the line between intimate and euphoric, standing proudly alongside the current crop of Up The Stuss tackle, and already earning BBC Radio 1 plays and support from Marco Carola, Skream and Chloé Caillet.
Rudy With A Hoodie & J-Land deliver "The Rhythm", a driving & incendiary peak-time weapon with big drops built for main stages and up-for-it crowds. We're getting a bit of Rekids, a bit of Red Axis, and a bit of DJ Tennis, all presented in a punchy and party-starting fashion.
Mexico City's PAURRO closes the record with "Chik Fresa", a playful and punchy piece of wavy, tribal-tinged house music from an artist who has performed at Tresor and Boiler Room and released on Cómeme and Nervous.
Four tracks. Four distinct voices. One dancefloor. One love!
STAFF COMMENTS
Matt says: Now that tech-house seems to have shaken off it's soiled past, the new era beckons. Here we have four producers who grab the genre by it's fist-pumping, rafter-swinging limbs and show us where it's heading through 2026. I'm welllll on board.
