Side A hones in on Jerry Butler's 1974 cut 'I'm Your Mechanical Man' from the Sweet Sixteen LP and beefs up a rugged drum break that hip-hop producers quickly made their own (not least Method Man in 'Bring The Pain,). Flip it over and enjoy a reshape of the source into functional DJ tools all designed for maximum flexibility in the mix. As a bonus, Les McCann's 'Vallarta' rounds things out and you may recognise it from underpinning Biggie's 'Ten Crack Commandments.'
