About this item

New on Hobbes Music sub-label Noetic Rhythm comes this taste twelve from Leonidas. "Love For Black Lives" won the Bob James Black Lives Matter remix competition on François Kevorkian’s World Of Echoes Facebook page. Previously available only via Leo's own Bandcamp page, it's now available on vinyl for the first time, alongside 2 brand new mixes, the "Love Dub" and "Black Thanks", plus "Acid Love".

U-guru’s soulful, funky sax / brass arrangement is the ideal foil for Bob’s powerful message throughout Side A, and takes centre stage on the instrumental "Love Dub", underscored by Leonidas’ analog production and 909-driven beats.

Completing the EP,  "Acid Love" is the most out-there cut on the record, co-produced with Leo’s long time friend and collaborator, Kay Suzuki.

"There are very few podcasts that start with such a powerful track. Normally I would edit that down so I could squeeze as much music as I can in the 45 minutes. But, today I felt like I couldn’t change anything from that" BILL BREWSTER (DJ HISTORY)
"It's one of those ones that I think is gonna be a bit of an anthem this summer, this year... That little riff as well, it's kind of got that Wally Badarou feeling..." GILLES PETERSON

STAFF COMMENTS

Matt says: Rightly garnering a bucketload of hype via the DJs that were gifted upfront promos. One of the biggest, most anthemic main room house tracks you're likely to hear for a while. Big without being brash; the kinda jam that Frankie Knuckles or Theo Parrish would make their own. There's a few different takes, but it's that OG A1 I'll be reaching for every time...
