About this item

The Strokes return with their seventh album, “Reality Awaits”, their first release in six years. Produced by Rick Rubin, the record has a direct, stripped-back sound that still feels unmistakably like The Strokes. Albert Hammond Jr.'s signature guitar work shines throughout, while Julian Casablancas' distinctive vocals—despite the use of Auto-Tune—remain front and center. Hammond Jr. has called it his favourite Strokes album to date, saying, "I can't express how beautiful it is. I listen to the whole thing and wanna start from the beginning again. It grows and grows and becomes intoxicatingly good."

STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: The first Strokes album in six long years comes leaping out of the starting gate, with jagged guitar lines and Casablancas' unique drawl perfectly twisting amongst each-other like a finely textured weave. Brilliantly fresh sounding, while retaining all of the off-kilter charm of their legendary catalogue.
