After the release of long player ‘The Gospel Of Jesamy’, Arp Frique & The Perpetual Singers return with a heavy hitting 4-track EP entitled ‘Alpha & Omega’.

The Amsterdam-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer follows up his very well received gospel-funk album with a big chunk of funk fuelled, high energy spiritual music featuring some stellar vocalists also present on the previous record: Texas-born gospel singer Brandon Delagraentiss, longtime collaborator Marissa Nyamekye aka Mariseya, and the legendary LA-born vocalist Rocq-E Harrell who - in her career spanning many decades - has sung with Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, Earth Wind & Fire, and toured with Diana Ross and the legendary Barry White.

Fronting out with the familiar high speed energy, "Alpha & Omega" is a highly frenetic disco rocket with empowered male & female vocal interplay, huge guitar riffs and this incessant, bubbly bassline that gives it a kind of Moroder-esque flavour. "For Your Love" carries on with a similiar vibe and instrumental palette, emphasising the gospel inflections and altogether spiritual ascension.

Onto side B and if you weren't prepared to sacfrice your soul for the lord on high, then "Help Me Jesus" and "Live Together Live" is liquid soul and squelchy boogie double header rolled into one, side-long, rare groove opus that'll have you surrendering yourself to the heavens in no time at all.

Matt says: Arp Frique continues to deliver a fresh and contemporary approach to tropical disco sophistication. Throwing in some more mid-tempo, rare groove business on this outing. If you've caught the highly engrossing live shows on the festival circuit and want to recreate the magic at home (or in the club), this EP serves as a nice summation of their sound.
