About this item
"Quadrilocular EP", Morgan Geist's first 12" record, originally released in 1994 on Metamorphic Recordings is remastered from the original tapes and features artwork inspired by the 1994 edition. A melodic Midwest techno classic, Geist composed, recorded and mixed the project on a minimal, tape-based setup in his college dorm room in Ohio. Nonetheless, the sophisticated programming and meticulous mixing techniques that would characterize his later discography were already evident.
A million miles away from the languid and disco-inspired Metro Area project (alongside Darshan Jesrani), these are urgent & primitive techno cuts; caught up the excitement and early development of the genre (remember this was 1994 - these tracks still sound pretty futuristic today!); with lashings of acid, wobbly funk and pounding drum machines. As per the original release, Dan Curtin's super deep, is-it-techno? is-it-house? remix is included. Available for the first time in yonks - don't sleep!
