About this item
New from the Moodymanc stable comes this very special, super limited 12".
Taking Gregory Porter's version of the classic Nina Simone track, "Feeling Good", Moodymanc has crafted two dancefloor ready versions; the first of which treads a lively, organic path rich with percussion, warm bass, rhythmic guitar licks and hi-hats crispier than Ricicles in the south pole. Infact, the drums throughout the EP need a mention - super dynamic, live sounding, and meticulously details - you'd expect nothing less, Danny being a drummer and all!
A more electronically-guided 'Moonlight Mix' accompanies the track on side A, with a proper heads-down, deep house flavour a la Kerri Chanderz or vintage Moods & Grooves. Beautifully constructed, wrapping moody pads, delicate organ licks and skeletal kinetics around that evocative Greg Porter vox. Nodding to halcyon MCR nights like Eyes Down & Electric Chair as it weaves through its duration.
"Leyete" sees Moodymanc dive into a lost Latin jazz number by Cal Tjader, effortlessly transforming it into a deep n jazzy house bomb that'll have you skipping around the kitchen of the dancefloor in no time at all. Living up to his namesake, this has classid KDJ vibes running through its veins, and is sure to find favour across a whole host of dancefloor moments, whether warming up at the start, or maxing out the buzz till the end, wide-eyes and group hugs all but guaranteed when this one drops!
Limited to 250 copies, and highly recommended by us here at Picc HQ.
