The vinyl-only release "MDMA-TION" from north west outfit ATM Musick blends gothic post-punk with neo-psych textures. Basslines from Bobby Thorpe underpin guitars and spectral synths, with a sprinkling of psychedelia by Psychederek wrapped around Louie Dunkin’s haunting vocals. Andy Happer’s drums lift "Until I Found You" on Side A, and the angelic voice of Jordan Rigby-Farrell shines on two standout tracks. Side B finds Doc Sonus transforming the originals into otherworldly form, including the closing cut "MDMA-TION (Drone)", which eases into a slow-burn comedown. Matt says: Manchester's new school stand proud and fearless, with the swaggering persona of ATM Musick poignantly harping on about the troubles in the world. Backed by the hot-to-trot Psychederek, and local troubermaker Bobby Thorpe, it's a beautiful thing seeing all these creative cats getting together and making music. Oh, and there's an element of baton passing too - as old guard Danny Ward (Moodymanc) is roped in on mixing duties! MVITA!
