About this item
The late Terry Callier was an esteemed singer/songwriter/guitarist and soul vocalist from Chicago. He grew up with Cutis Mayfield, Major Lance, Jerry Butler and the doo-wop groups of the early 60s. “Look At Me Now” was his debut recording for Chess Records, albeit originally a B-side to “You Goin’ Miss Your Candy Man”, but it is the single we reissue here that became integral to his legacy and his place on the Northern Soul scene that remains today. An ‘Alternative Take’ was recorded at the time and only now has it been made available, exclusive to this 7” release. Original copies of the 1968 release currently exchange hands for between £600 and £650
