About this item
The Sound were a seminal English post-punk band formed in South London in 1979 by lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Adrian Borland, alongside drummer Mike Dudley, bassist Graham Bailey, and keyboardist Benita “Bi” Marshall. Though their debut album 'Jeopardy' is now widely recognized as a cornerstone of the post-punk movement, the band struggled to achieve commercial success on par with their peers, ultimately disbanding in 1988
Recorded at the Marquee Club across two August nights in 1985, 'In The Hothouse' is the only live album released whilst the band were still active. The set draws on highlights from the group’s back catalogue as well as material from 'Heads And Hearts' which had been released a few months earlier. Includes tracks 'Winning', 'Skeletons' & 'Sense Of Purpose'.
Now available for the first time in a deluxe 2CD gatefold format, this expanded edition includes the original live album split over two discs and complete with bonus tracks, unseen photos and lyrics.
