Fresh on Bokhari comes this four winged beauty courtesy of the mysterious Louis Heel. Seemingly his first release, "N. Sail" occupies a sweet spot between languid Balearic house and sultry electronic disco. If Metro Area were holidaying on the Italian coastline when they composed their music, I imagine it could have sounded very much like this. 

Originally played on Richard Sen's Do!!You!!! radio show, it quickly garnered a loyal following, which led to Bokhari signing the track. Enlisted on remix duties is the aforementioned Richard Sen, Modern Love / Demdike Stare's MLZ and Gus Paterson of Late Night Tales / Citizens of Vice / Solar Phenomena fame.

"E. Sail" and "S. Sail" both stay true to the mood of the original, with Gus switching the drum machines for some vintage boogie crunch, and Richard adding more layers of pads, synths and glistening arps. "W. Sail" meanwhile, sees Miles Whittiker take us on a moody and nocturnal voyage across the Mariana Trench, synth swells matching the deep tides and ratcheting percussion mimicking the creaks and cracks of a ship on a dangerous but imperative journey. There's a tentative, almost haunting tension; brooding away as the track steady plots its course. A track that nearly stops you dead in your tracks.

Excellent stuff from Bokari. Recommended!

Matt says: Great stuff here from Bokhari who take a risk on a fresh new signing with little back catalogue to go on. The risk pays off though as Louis delivers a sincere slice of coastal Balearic house which tickles and tantalizes in all the right places. Add some tasteful remixes by Gus Paterson and Richard Sen, not to mention a heart-shattering redux / dub from the legendary MLZ and you've got a totally essential record. There's only a 100 of em - so better move quick!
