About this item

"Fragments of Us" is, surprisingly, the debut album from UK stalwart Midland. The producer and DJ rose to prominence around 2010 and quickly but quietly became a hushed and coveted secret on the global DJ circuit. During this time he's held a Radio 1 residency, contributed to both The Essential Mix and Fabric Mix series, and ran his own highly celebrated record label - Graded.

"Fragments of Us" displays Harry's love of neon-hued bass and radioactive house music beautifully. Sequenced wonderfully, it's an understated but highly engrossing long player which displays both excellent sonic balance, and a keen ear for innovation. The cover art is a photo by his brother Dom Agius, and the type and graphics are by longtime friend and designer, Nick Shea. It features the voices of some Midland’s artistic heroes including Marlon Riggs, David Wojnarowicz alongside the contemporary voices of Stereogamus‘ Jonny Seymour and Horse Meat Disco’s Luke Howard.

STAFF COMMENTS

Matt says: Nice mix of future bass, modern atmos, system tickling production and fun electronics. Few tracks for the club, but the real joys will emerge from intensive headphone / home listening on top quality audio gear.
