Dames Brown Ft. Waajeed
Glory
About this item
Dames Brown continue to build upon their Defected success with this three-track vinyl package, featuring remixes from two highly respected house selectors. ‘Glory’, featuring Dirt Tech Reck label founder Waajeed, has been spotlighted by BBC Radio 6’s Craig Charles, capturing the effervescence of the Dames on his flagship show. It's a rollicking, foot stomping, high energy exercise in spiritual funk; with the Dames in full effect with call-response, gospel-tinged vocals.
Chicago pioneer Kelly G.’s ‘Dancing Dub Club Mix’ takes the track to the clubs, with a tasteful 4x4 workout which retains all that vocal and organ magic, but segues them nicely into a barn stomping house groove.
On the B-side Detroit techno father-daughter duo Floorplan take the track to the church of dance music with a gospel-techno hybrid that's synonymous with this highly acclaimed act. Another winner from the Dames!
STAFF COMMENTS
Matt says: New school soul sisters Dames Brown come correct with their new single. Produced by Detroit producer Waajeed it possesses a definite Motor City bump; and it's riotous flavours have already attracted the attention of Craig Charles. I love em - proper party tackle!
