Hi folks,
Well it's a bit of a bumper week for 7"s this week, and indeed for great indie labels too!
First up, Great Pop Supplement bring us two slabs of Velvets-tinged goodness: our 'Indie Record Of The Week' from Still Corners and the Moe Tucker produced Charles Douglas.
My favourite label at the mo, Captured Tracks, bring us a whole pile of goodies: Gorgeous Felt-esque pop from Minks, ice-cool synth action from Cosmetics, Kraut-infused beats from Soft Moon, and the pick of the bunch the lo-fi sunshine pop of Hanoi Janes.
Piccadilly is fans of both Sub Pop and No Age, so naturally we're very excited about the new No Age single which is available on both 7" and 12" with diffferent B-sides.
Static Caravan give us 60s influenced folk pop from Goodnight Lenin and a couple of top notch psyche-rock instrumentals from Yellow Moon Band.
The debut single from Flash Fiktion is a great blast of energetic pop that reminds me of early Supergrass, there's a mega limited one-sided 7" from The Cribs, a bit of West Coast sunshine is delivered by Domino new boys Chief and the much talked about Ducktails brings us a sun dappled new-psyche treat.
If you want something to move your feet too, then check out the Monarchy 7" which includes a Holy Ghost remix and the Holy Fuck remixes 7". Or maybe some deep soul is more your style? Well check out the Four Mints 7" or how about some kung-fu blaxploitation funk from Big Pimp Jones?
Plenty to choose from there I'm sure you'll agree!
Cheers
Laura
