Manchester's illest UKF and grime promoters / DJs, Samrai and Platt (aka Bal and Jon K of Fat City fame) bring us this mixtape highlighting the fresh urban sounds of their pioneering Swing Ting clubnight (one of the very first clubnights in Manchester pushing this whole UK funky / garage thing...). We are treated to two full length DJ mixes on the CD; the first focussing more on grime, slow jamz and R'n'B while the second ramps up the BPMs into UKF, garage and future beats territory. Full of crafty dub plates and unreleased tracks all mixed up live with shout-outs and sound idents by some local MCs from the scene. If you want a good taste of urban music at the moment, from all its various corners and more specifically what we us lot up north are feeling 'in tha dance' then this is a good place to start.
