The MDCL in question is obviously Mark De Clive-Lowe, who compiles this rather brilliant selection of tunes for Especial. First we have Rob Van De Wouw's "Common Ground", mixed by MDCL himself. A soulful broken house groover, this looks set for major dancefloor play on modern soul / soulful house floors. The Politik (Mark De Clive-Lowe and Bembe Segue) pop up next with "Dreams", another funky floor-filler with real swing to it - part house, part percussive broken beat, part UK funky. I'm loving this!! Sandra St. Victor keeps up the house pressure with "Cosmos", again produced by De Clive-Lowe. This track takes a jazz-soul / jazz-funk sound and adds a fat 4/4 beat to it. Includes vocal and instrumental versions. Quality!
