ABOUT THIS ITEM

Although Manchester has enjoyed recent success from bands such as The Ting Tings, The Courteeners and the meteoric return of Elbow it has been a while since the city has enjoyed a real progressive and identifiable scene. The next generation of young bands have their sights set firmly on the future without harking back to Manchester clichés.
This record is more than the sum of its parts; it’s a collaborative effort by the people and artists that are going to make Manchester a focal point for new music in 2010. Each of the featured artists on this record share a stage, an ethos, a practice room and a beer or two whilst being each other’s biggest advocates. All acts are at different stages of their careers but it is mutual respect that has brought them together in agreeing to be on this record.

"Love & Disaster 1" is a statement on how Manchester aims to continue in 2010; these guys are the city’s future with exciting prospects ahead. Here Manchester welcomes in the new guard.
