The Kitsune Maison selection is back for its ninth edition. Moving away from the label's usual French style electro club bangers and SHOUTY indie-electro-pop, KM have come up with a rather splendid selection of a more gentle kind of electronic pop. In fact, this new compilation is soft! Opening track "Belong" by Washed Out alone is a worthy contender for track of the summer, and even the usually ramped-up Crookers deliver the sounds-like-it's-an-obscure-Euro-dance-track-from-1983 "Cooler Couleur". Obviously there's still plenty to jump around your bedroom to, but interspersed with songs (yes, actuall songs, with words you can sing along to) that make you really feel like summer is on the way. A fully padded compilation that’s rather more candid, innocent and carefree than the norm, while still inviting the listener to shake his / her hips. Reccomended.
