ABOUT THIS ITEM
For "Dreams Come True", Jon Savage has tuned his acutely discerning ears into the febrile rhythms, low end frequencies and street level sense of fun rippling through early 80s electro. The result isn't THE definitive electro compilation (it misses out the likes of "Planet Rock", "Clear" and "Al-Nayfish"), but instead a personal exploration of some of electro's most hedonistic and breathless tracks. The set opens with Yazoo's electro-pop gem "Situation", before heading into disco territory with Class Action's "Weekend". It's electro proper on C-Bank's "Get Wet" and Debbie Deb's monster vocal anthem "When I Hear The Music", while Nuance's sleazy "Love Ride" finally gets an overdue reappraisal. With other tracks including Pamela Joy's "Think Fast", The Latin Rascals "Lisa's Coming", Klein & MBO's classic "Dirty Talk (European Connection)" and Dhar Braxton's proto house gem "Jump Back (Set Me Free)" on the list, you know you're in for a real treat here.
