During the mid-60s, a new British folk movement began. Not overtly political, nor overly bothered by detail or decorum, it took on beatnik trappings to become something as distinct from the traditional folksong as Bob Dylan's wild lyricism. After skirmishes with psychedelia, by the turn of the seventies it had evolved into something which has retrospectively been termed acid folk. This is music of innocence and rare beauty; listening to "Early Morning Hush", we are transported back to that era.
