Back in 2000, the original "Disco Not Disco" compilation let Joey Negro and Sean P delved into the more leftfield realms of their vast disco collections and gave a name to a whole era of post-punk alt-disco sounds. The late 70s / early 80s period has been so extensively mined that the reborn Strut imprint has had to spread its net wider to bring us undiscovered treasure, going back to the pre-punk mid 70s and well into the mid 80s. This new edition in the series moves from New York classics by Liquid Liquid and Bill Laswell's Material to early Detroit machine music, Belgian new beat and a healthy dose of UK originals from Pigbag, Quando Quango and more on seminal labels like Y and Factory. Watch out too for rare gems from unexpected sources including Sisters Of Mercy side project The Sisterhood, 70s prog collective Isotope and free jazz legend Ornette Coleman.
